Over the past decade NYPL has digitized nearly 9,000 pages from 162 atlases documenting New York City's changing geography and built environment. In July of 2008 the West Virginia GIS Technical Center began receiving and scanning Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps from the West Virginia University Downtown Library Regional and Historic Collection for the purposes of digital archiving.
